If last night's tempo run is any indication on my performance for the upcoming New Jersey Marathon, then Im in trouble! I ran a grueling 12 mile tempo run with the first 5 miles at an 8:00 pace while the last 7 miles at a blistering 6:55 mile pace against the nasty bay area headwinds! Boy did it get annoying.
So my overall pace was 7:15ish which I am very proud of but also quite discouraged at how much agony and pain it was to maintain such a pace when I need a qualifying time at a pace of 7:10 a mile. My only words are: "Its gonna be tough!"

TUES 03.25
Plan: 10 mile tempo with 5 miles at half marathon pace
Results: 10 mile tempo at 1 hr 15 min ~7:30 min/mile pace + Back/Shoulders/Biceps
Notes: One of the best tempo runs I've ever had. Exhausted myself but felt confident and had complete concentration. Slept 8 hrs the night before. I wonder if that helped?

NJ Marathon Schedule
I thought I would post and share my 12 week running schedule for the upcoming NJ Marathon. I know it'll help me keep motivated with so many distractions in today's world. I was forced to make alot of adjustments (as you could probaly notice) and skip some weeks due to a frustrating injury. Crossing my fingers it'll go according to planned. Sigh.

Today's Run
Just completed my 13 miler and I feel awesome! By no means am I not tired (or achy, ahh, my legs) but I feel as confident and motivated as I did before the Dallas Marathon. So, I can finally say, Im back!! But a long run cant be complete until the frigid ice bath, brrrrr.
Next week, 15 mile trail run at Point Reyes. Its been so long. The scenery is speachless.
