I ran a grueling 12 mile tempo run with the first 5 miles at an 8:00 pace while the last 7 miles at a blistering 6:55 mile pace against the nasty bay area headwinds! Boy did it get annoying.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So my overall pace was 7:15ish which I am very proud of but also quite discouraged at how much agony and pain it was to maintain such a pace when I need a qualifying time at a pace of 7:10 a mile. Exhausted myself but felt confident and had complete concentration. Slept 8 hrs the night before.
